About the Author

Christopher Earls Brennen was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and graduated from the University of Oxford with a BA, MA and DPhil in Engineering Science. He has been on the faculty at the California Institute of Technology since 1969 and, at various times, has also served that institution as Executive Officer of Mechanical Engineering, Master of Student Houses, Dean of Students and Vice-President for Student Affairs. He has written four internationally published books, Cavitation and Bubble Dynamics , Hydrodynamics of Pumps (which has also been translated and published in Japan and China), Fundamentals of Multiphase Flow, and Thermohydraulics of Nuclear Reactors, all now available from Cambridge University Press.
