1666 HEARTH MONEY ROLLS

The 1666 Hearth Money Rolls for the Barony of Dungannon include James Broune in the townland of Mullaghannagh, parish of Donaghmore. They also include James Broun in the townland of Kildress, parish of Kildress.

RECORDS OF THE PARISH OF DONAGHMORE

Other than the baptisms, marriages and burials listed elsewhere the records of the Parish of Donaghmore contain the following references to Browns.

  1. A list of parishioners confirmed in 1846 includes the names of William Browne of Lisnamonaghan aged 21, Thompson Browne of Lisnamonaghan aged 19, Mary Jane Kelly of Dristeran aged 20, Elizabeth Browne of Stakernagh aged 19 and Ellen Browne of Stakernagh aged 15.
  2. A similar list for 1849 included Eliza Browne of Lisnamonaghan aged 15 and Robert Brown of Stakernagh aged 17.
