1666 HEARTH MONEY ROLLS
The 1666 Hearth Money Rolls for the Barony of Dungannon include Phelemy McDonnell in the townland of Ballinakilly, parish of Desertcreat. Ballinakilly is about one mile southeast of Coalisland.
FAMILY BIBLE
A large MacDonald family bible, now in the possession of Flora Hutchison contains entries in a family registry on four of the pages near the front of the book. The bible is probably second hand since paper has been pasted over some original entries on these pages and the covered entries which can be seen do not appear related to our family. On the first page entitled ``Parents Names and Genealogy'' the following appears:

The records of the Parish of Arboe, County Tyrone, include the following items in addition to the births, marriages and deaths recorded elsewhere.
- A parish survey done in 1775 records the presence of three McDonald (or McDonnell) families in the parish. Alexander McDonald and his wife Jane live in Killycolpy with four sons and one daughter. William McDonald and his wife Jane also live in Killycolpy with their sons, Archibald aged 24, John aged 22, William aged 19 and James aged 16 and their daughter Eliza aged 27. These two Killycolpy families are listed next to each other. Living in Drumullan are Daniel McDonnell and his wife Jean with their four sons Daniel aged 16, John aged 9, William aged 3 and Alexander aged one month. The record says this last family has been ``removed out of parish''.
- From lists of those from the parish who have been confirmed we learn the following. In August 1775, John and William McDonald (grouped together on list) and James, Alexander and Elizabeth McDonald (also grouped together) were confirmed in ceremonies in Moneymore. On Aug.9, 1837, Sarah McDonald of Carnan aged 15 was confirmed. In 1843, Mary J. McDonald aged 16 was confirmed.
- In 1808, Alexander McDonnell borrowed money from the church and an entry in the parish records dated Jan.1, 1808, reads as follows. ``I, Alexander McDonnell, do hereby acknowledge to have received from the Rev. Dr. Hall the sum of five pounds, thirteen shillings and nine pence which with the five pounds, thirteen shillings and nine pence before received by me is in full of all bounty for the Parish of Arboe amounting to eleven pounds, seven shillings and six pence and for which I promise to be accountable to the said parish. Given under my hand this 1st Jan 1808.''
- The 1826 Tithes Applotment Book for Ardboe contains two McDonald listings: (1) Alexander and Jane McDonald who occupy a farm of 9 acres in the townland of Carnan (2) Archey McDonald who occupies a farm of 6 acres in the townland of Carnan.
RECORDS OF THE PARISH OF ARDTREA
In 1860/61 a collection was made to pay for the lighting of the parish church. John MacDonald and James MacDonald, both of Derrygonigan, each gave one shilling and six pence.
RECORDS OF THE PARISH OF TAMLAGHT (Ballinderry)
Helen McDonald aged 16 was confirmed in 1840 in the Moneymore Church, parish of Tamlaght.
